The fourth annual and family-friendly Downtown Food Truck Picnic is taking place at Exhibition Park Sunday afternoon featuring a dozen food trucks and other local vendors with 10 per cent of all proceeds going to Big Brothers Big Sisters Canada.

Organizers anticipate it to be large event with 12 food trucks — with gluten-free and vegan options — and 13 local vendors, a licensed beer garden, face-painting and more for the kids, they told The Guelph Post.

BBBS and Sweet Temptations Cupcakery are co-hosting the day together.

Sweet Temptations, Eating Clouds, Ish & Chips, Giordano’s Kitchen Co., Pierogi Pigs, El Milagro, The Frying Dutchman, Breakfast Blues & BBQs, Fo’ Cheezy, Schmuck Truck, Wild Boar and Jashan-e-Dawat are the scheduled food trucks, according to the event page on Facebook.

The event is a big one and will last from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday with free admission. About 5,000 people attended last year and some $25,000 has been raised.

The Guelph Public Library, Guelph Water Wagon, Canadian Blood Services, Cleo the Clown & Painting Pals, Guelph Family Martial Arts, Laza, Food & Beverages Inc., Guelph Nighthawks, Clean Slate Art Gallery, Loyalty Club, Co Working Parent Studio, Kultivar & Co. will be in attendance.

A spokeswoman for Big Brothers Big Sisters said that that are anticipating thousands from the Guelph community to come and emphasized the event will be great for families and children.
