Early in the morning on Wednesday, Guelph Police were called to the VIA Rail Station on Carden St. for a report of a man being aggressive with transit constables.

As police arrested the 19-year-old, one officer was struck. He was charged with dual counts of assault of police and two counts of breach probation and is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

There were four arrested on warrants:

  • A 35-year-old Guelph man arrested on grounds for use stolen credit card, possession of stolen property and five counts of breach recognizance.  He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
  • A 31-year-old Kitchener man arrested on grounds for five counts of use stolen credit card and possession of stolen property. He will appear in court on June 28, 2019.
  • A 32-year-old Guelph man arrested on two warrants, one from London Police and one from Strathroy Police. He was turned over to London Police.
  • A 29-year-old Guelph man arrested on a warrant for theft under, trafficking stolen property and break/enter. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

In the area of Woolwich St. and MacDonell St., police responded to the report of a mobility scooter and car involved in a collision. Only minor injuries occurred and an investigation is ongoing.
