Guelph Police were called the area of Lyons Park on Sunday evening after a citizen spotted a body in the Eramosa River, an area towards the east end of the city.
The body was that of an “adult male”, police said in a press release, adding that they are working with the coroner to determine the cause of death.
Anyone with information regarding the case are asked to contact police or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
Speed enforcement was carried out between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Sunday on College Ave. at Rodney Blvd. and Edinburgh Rd. South. Between the two areas, 22 tickets were issued.
A 40-year-old Guelph man arrested on a warrant for drive disqualified, criminal harassment, breach probation and fail to re-attend court. He will appear in court on July 12.
