After being hit by vehicle while in his wheelchair last week, Paul Bell died from complications related to his injuries, Guelph Police reported on Tuesday afternoon.

An update in the still ongoing investigation revealed that the 57-year-old passed away on Monday.

Guelph Police were called to a collision at Edinburgh Rd. North and Willow Rd. on May 14.

An initial investigation determined that at approximately 11:36 a.m., a 57-year-old Guelph man operating an electric wheel chair was crossing within the intersection when a four-door sedan, which was operated by a 50-year-old Guelph woman, struck him.

The sedan then partially left the roadway and struck a cement retaining wall on the east side of the roadway. This sent Bell to hospital and soon after a crowdfunding page was set up.
