In a move that brings politics into Father’s Day, Green Party federal candidate Steve Dyck is hosting a barbecue to celebrate “fathers of all kinds” on Sunday at Royal City Park downtown Guelph.

The free event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open to anyone in the public. Dyck, who was confirmed as the candidate earlier this year, confirmed that Green literature will be handed out as those attending enjoy the variety of edible options available.

Dyck told The Post that there will be meat, vegetable and vegan-options for hot dogs on whole wheat or while buns and those interested are encouraged to bring a reusable cup for lemonade.

“The simple pleasures of being in nature and connecting with family and friends – all welcome,” he added. Attendees can ask further questions or mark their attendance via the Facebook event page.
