A Guelph man was sent to hospital by ambulance on Tuesday night after police found him in medical distress after he was sprayed with an “irritant” — possibly pepper or bear spray — at a Carden St. business.
Guelph Police said on Wednesday that they are investigating the incident and anyone with information is encouraged to contact police. The 21-year-old man was treated for his injuries, police said in a press release.
Also on Tuesday and unrelated, a young girl, age 13, was struck by a vehicle driven by a 38-year-old woman at the intersection of Eastview Rd. and Mountford Dr. — though the girl suffered minor injuries that did not require medical attention.
Police said they wish to remind the public that when crossing an intersection, pedestrian signals should be obeyed and traffic should be paid attention to.
