A delivering pizza was approached by an unknown individual who brandished a firearm demanding money, however, cash was not handed over but the individual walked away with a pizza.
Guelph Police said in a press release that they were called to Janefield Ave. at 11:34 p.m. for the report of this robbery but the suspect got away. He was described as a black male, thin and clean shaven.
He was last seen running through the 302 College Ave. complex. Anyone with information are asked to contact police.
In a separate incident earlier in the evening, Guelph Police were patrolling in the downtown area and observed a male known to them standing in the vestibule of a Wyndham St. apartment building.
The man does not live there and on closer inspection he was seen to be holding a drug pipe and lighter. The investigation led to officers attempting to arrest the man who initially resisted physically. A
Conductive Energy Weapon was utilized to gain control without injury and he was arrested.
The 34-year-old Guelph man was charged with resist arrest, breach recognizance and two counts of breach probation.
He was also charged under the Trespass to Property Act with engage in prohibited activity and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
