The Toronto Raptors will be playing to win the National Basketball Association championship in Game 6 of the final series and Guelph fans will again be able to watch on a blow-up screen on Thursday in what has been dubbed “Raptors Square” in front of city hall.

Hundreds of fans came out to the first public viewing of a Raptors game last Friday night as NBA finals fever takes over the country. However, a second attempt for Game 5 was called off when it was too windy and wet to set up the equipment.

At the time of the announcement, staff wrote in a post on the city website that they are “working on a backup plan in case of rain and wind”. Later on, however, Mayor Cam Guthrie said that there is no longer a backup and that everything depends on the weather.

The city said just minutes before it started that the viewing is a go.
