A fire engulfed a new playground at the east end Peter Misersky Park early on Monday morning, authorities said.

Police and fire were called to the park at around 2 a.m. and though the fire was eventually put out, significant damage had occurred.

Nearby residents confirmed to The Post that it was a popular structure for youth in the neighbourhood.

The mayor posted his disgust on social media later on Monday, saying “somebody knows something”, encouraging anyone with information to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

“Seriously? Find out to did this Guelph,” Mayor Cam Guthrie added on Instagram.
