Guelph General Hospital is offering a tour of their Family Birthing Unit on the third Wednesday of each month with the next information session scheduled for July 17.
It comes as part of an effort to bring transparency to the birthing process ahead of time in regards to labour, delivery and what to expect in the days after a child is born.
The tour sessions will allow attendees to speak with community partners and how they support new mothers and their families, a press release said.
The initiative was launched by nurses Margaret Sherratt and Sandra Santos, who are supported by hospital volunteers.
Those expecting and a single plus one can sign up for the free tour and staff will be on hand to answer questions that guests may have.
