A man driving a motorcycle was thrown from the bike after a collision with another vehicle on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in serious injuries to the head.
The accident shut down Woodlawn Road West between Imperial and Elmira roads for a part of the afternoon and evening.
It was around 2:50 p.m. that the 29-year-old biker was thrown from his Suzuki as it slammed into a car leaving a dealership.
He was treated at the scene by Guelph Wellington Paramedics Services and transported to the Guelph General Hospital.
The patient was later transported to a trauma centre in serious condition.
The roadway was closed for some time as members of the Guelph Police Traffic Unit reconstructed the collision scene.An investigation into the crash continues, police said in a press release on Wednesday.
