Eli Ridder is the editor at The Guelph Post. He has three years of experience in the field of journalism and has been involved in many aspects of the city in the past. He soft-launched The Post on Jan. 1, 2019, but carried out a more aggressive launch in May in partnership with Human Element, the company that is now behind the publication.
Ridder founded The Avro Post, a student publication based at the University of Guelph-Humber which serves GH and the Humber College North Campus community. It is considered the first independent student publication for that campus and has a major impact on the students there with day-to-day reporting during the school year and investigative stories.
Ridder’s education consists of three years of the University of Guelph-Humber’s media studies – journalism program. He switched to Humber College’s more hands-on advanced journalism program for the fall of 2019 to better align with his career goals. The Post is Ridder’s full-time job and aims to keep it that way with the subscription service.
Ridder reports on city hall, community stories, business news and more across Guelph. Support Ridder and the other staff at The Post by subscribing here.
