Guelph Police have recovered a vehicle that was stolen after being left running in the owner’s driveway.

The vehicle, a gold Volkswagen Jetta was left running in the driveway at 6:30pm on January 12.  The owner went inside his home near the intersection of Edinburgh Road North and Willow Road, and when he looked outside, his vehicle was being driven away.

OPP officers later located the vehicle, abandoned in a ditch, in the township of Alma, just north of Elora.

The Guelph Police Service remind everyone to lock your vehicles and never leave an unattended vehicle running, even if just for a short period of time.
